About Real Book Reviews
Honest, detailed feedback that helps you write and publish a better book.
What We Offer
Real Book Reviews was built for one reason, to give authors honest and useful feedback before their book reaches the world. Every order you place with us is a complete review of your manuscript, and it brings together two valuable points of view in a single report. The first is editorial level feedback, the kind of close and careful reading a professional editor brings to a project. The second is a true beta reader review, which shows you how a real reader experiences your story from the opening page to the final line. Put together, these two views give you a full and honest picture of what your book does well and where it has room to grow.
Plenty of services hand you a few lines of praise or a short list of complaints and call it a review. We work differently. Our feedback is thorough, specific, and made to be acted on. We read your entire book, not just a sample chapter, and we take notes the whole way through. When we finish, you receive a written report you can read, save, and return to as often as you like while you revise.
What Is Inside Your Review
We believe feedback only helps when there is enough of it to truly guide you. That is why our reviews go so deep. For an average book of twenty five thousand words or more, your report runs about twenty pages of feedback. Twenty pages gives us the room to dig into your plot and pacing, your characters and the choices they make, your structure, your voice, your dialogue, and the small moments that either pull a reader closer or push them away.
You will see clearly what is working, so you can keep and strengthen it. You will see what is holding your story back, so you can repair it before anyone else notices. Most of all, you will get to view your book through fresh and honest eyes, which is one of the rarest and most useful gifts a writer can receive. Whether you are shaping an early draft or preparing a polished manuscript for release, this depth of detail helps you make smart and confident decisions.
Our Mission
Our mission is simple and close to our hearts. We want to help authors get real feedback that leads to better books. Writing a book is brave and demanding work, yet far too many writers reach the end with little idea of how their story actually lands with readers. We exist to close that gap. We hand you the honest insight you need to strengthen your manuscript, sharpen your skills, and step into publishing day with genuine confidence.
We care about your success because we care about books. A good book deserves the chance to find its readers, and that chance often rests on the quality of the feedback an author receives before publishing. Our goal is to keep that feedback affordable, detailed, and truly helpful, so that more writers can reach their full potential and share stories worth reading.
Supported by Carolina House Publishing
Real Book Reviews is proud to be supported by Carolina House Publishing, a company built around helping authors succeed on their own terms. That partnership gives our service real publishing experience to draw from, which means the notes you receive are grounded in what actually helps a book perform well once it is out in the world. An Important Note
We want to be completely clear about what our reviews are and what they are not. Every review we create is a full book review made for you, the author. It is private feedback designed to help you improve your manuscript. Our reviews do not include any posted review on Amazon or any other book marketplace at this time. The purpose of our service is not public promotion or marketplace ratings. The purpose is to give you the honest and detailed guidance you need to edit your book, finish it with pride, and earn the best possible result when you publish.
